Batteries store electrical energy in the form of chemical energy. Batteries are composed of two terminals that contain metals, the anode and the cathode, separated by the electrolyte. When the battery is activated by a source, the anode releases electrons to the negative terminal (-) and the cathode releases ions to the positive side (+), which is the connected by the electrolyte in the middle, allowing the contact between the two terminals. This is the process that converts the chemical energy into electrical energy.
