Bar chart is constructed such that the lengths of the different bars are proportional to the size of the data category they represent. It comprises of the x-axis and y-axis. The x-axis is represented by the horizontal line while the y-axis is represented by the vertical line.

The x-axis represents different data categories and so has no scale.
