The child represents injustice and inhumanity. The setting is believed to be Utopia. The idyllic setting of the sea, the exuberant summer festivals and the activities may show it as a perfect society. But it is not.
The child represents people without privilege in the society. The flute players are the people who have all the privilege and enjoy life.
The flute maker is making beautiful music that is attactive but the people move away from him.
