We know that perpendicular lines have slopes that are negative reciprocal of the original slope.
The first step would be to make the equation into slope intercept form:
- y = [tex]-\frac{2}{5}[/tex] x - 5
Now we just find the negative reciprocal of the original equation which would be [tex]\frac{5}{2}[/tex] .
So the perpendicular slope of the line -2y - 5x = 10 would be [tex]\frac{5}{2}[/tex] .
