What does the author's language reveal about his tone toward the American Electoral College system? What rhetorical strategies does he use to justify his perspective? (The American Electoral Process on Commonlit.)

Respuesta :

In the text "The American Electoral Process," the author Mike Kubic uses language that reveals a tone of incredulity and dislike towards the Electoral System. He argues that the system "is too complicated, takes too much time and is too expensive."

The author also employs rhetorical strategies to justify his perspective. For example, he employs a metaphor when he refers to this system as an "applesauce." The author also employs logos when he gives the example of Bush vs. Al Gore, as well as when he talks about the 15th, 19th and 26th Amendments to the US Constitution.

The answer is: he dislikes the process.

Examining the author's tone, we could deduce his viewpoint on the subject of the American Electoral College system.

For example, we recall when referring to the electoral college system in the first paragraph he said,

"it's more complicated....it takes too much time; it's too expensive, and it's unfair. And in fact, it is all of the above"

From those words, we see a strong dislike toward the American Electoral College system.

To justify his viewpoints he used some rhetorical strategies, for example, a metaphor was used when he said, referred to the system as "an applesauce".
