Answer:

   Dear freshman student,

Of course, the basic skills of writing will be needed to even pass in your future English class.  You will need pencils and paper, creativity and a work ethic, you will need to have a mind set of a ambitious student, someone who will want to learn.  In order to get all of the teachers to smother you with admiration, you must have the capability to persevere.  Being polite never killed anyone either, so have etiquette of some kind.  And finally, never ever lose confidence in your abilities to write.  Insecurities caused more casualties than peace, and in the end, peace was always the goal to begin with.

Hello Freshman! Welcome to high school, where everything becomes way more difficult than it needs to be. Basically, all of these classes are just hoops you need to jump through and nothing really means anything unless you're trying to become a doctor. Math sucks, but the writing courses are tolerable. To survive one of these courses, just try to keep up. The assignments are never too hard, just a bunch of re-writing things that happen in books and calling it a summary. You need to pay attention to grammar of course, because all the teachers are intense when it comes to that, but as long as you get the point across without sounding like a three year old, you should do just fine. Don't fall behind in your reading or you won't have the knowledge you need if there's a pop quiz, and always triple check your work to make sure there are no errors. Other than that it's pretty self explanatory. Try and enjoy your time in high school, as hard as that may be, and you should do just fine.
