Galileo was an Italian Astronomer and Physicist. He was regarded as the father of modern Physics and Father of Observational astronomy. He discovered four moons revolving around Jupiter.

He also knew that Venus is always closer to the Sun and that it had phases . He then said if truly it revolved around the Earth then those phases would be absent.
