As the first female pharaoh of Egypt, Hatshepsut's Impact on society was quite a large one. Because she was female, but also a very successful ruler, she gave much empowerment to the women of Egypt. It was then thought that if a woman could rule a kingdom, then why couldn't she do anything else, (Various other women may have also ruled as pharaohs regnant or at least regents before Hatshepsut, as early as Neithhotep around 1600 years prior.) Hatshepsut came to the throne of Egypt in 1478 BC.
