A bereaved isca person that lost his/her loved ones. Cognitive, or thinking, responses may include disbelief, confusion, preoccupation, dreams of the deceased.
This behavioural factors differ from person to person, and are based on different cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
Answer: cross-culturally, the bereaved are different and this difference diminishes with time.
Explanation: All over the world, different cultures mourn and grieve differently. What may seem absurd and/or barbaric in some cultures is exactly part of the process bereaveds go through in other climes. Take for example, some cultures seclude the bereaved for a certain time, there are some who locks the spouse of the deceased with the deceased in the same room. Such acts may not be understandable to others outside of said culture whereas it is a norm for those practicing it.
But as the world becomes a global village, these differences are diminishing and most cultures are reviewing their practices and making adjustments to fit most of society's acceptable mourning practices.
