Criminal suspects have the right to not give evidence against themselves. In Miranda v. Arizona, the Supreme Court ruled that before being questioned by the police suspects, must be reminded of their constitutional right to an attorney and against self-incrimination.
If you're in the following states: Indiana, New Jersey, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Alaska they will also say...
“We have no way of giving you a lawyer, but one will be appointed for you, if you wish, if and when you go to court.”
Hope this helps. HAVE A BLESSED AND WONDERFUL DAY! As well as a great Valentines Day! :-)
