In order to facilitate the exchange of information, because they feared attacks from the Soviets, the United States Department of Defense (ARPA - Advanced Research Projects Agency) created a system for sharing information between people geographically distant, in order to facilitate strategies for war.
At that moment, the prototype of the first internet network, the Arpanet (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), appears.
Thus, on October 29, 1969, the first connection between the University of California and the Stanford Research Institute was established. It was a historic moment, since the first email was sent.
