Answer: If you wouldn't say it to there face don't say it online.

Explanation: When you say something to someone in person you are most likely to not say anything rude or be overly opinionated, you might fight or argue but when online people tend to say nasty stuff. For example let's say someone looks bad, in person you would probably just ignore it but online a person would say you look bad or clean yourself up. That would make someone feel bad about themself, or they would believe you. If you ignored it online they would feel better that your not beating them up for it. The concept is to only say online what you would say in person.

A short paragraph which explains the principle of “don’t say or do anything online that you wouldn’t say or do face to face.” is:

  • Some people are only emboldened when they are not physically present to face the consequences of their actions

Some examples of this scenario includes:

  • A person who trolls people online
  • A cyberbully

When a person is comfortable with trash talking a person online but is unable to do so in person, then that person is a coward.

As a result of this, we can see that a lot of internet trolls are part of these people because when they meet the person they are talking to face to face, they are unable to repeat what they said online.
