Answer: I was in am exchange program which required me to go work for a year in another state with different langauge and diffrent culture
Explanation: in this situation I had to work in a supervisory position which made it even more challenging because most of the people didn't speak any English hence it made the communication very difficult so I had to rely in my other skills such as using display activity to let them see what I expected from them and I had to rely mostly on a translator.
The most important though was to actual embrace that I'm with people who don't share the similar culture and I had to pay special attention to things that are allowed and things that aren't allowed like things which are see as offensive to their culture .
Learning about their culture and asking questions was very important in order to make sure that I acknowledge their culture with respect. I had to be patient and not put much pressure on myself and just use every isolating time to an advantage of learning , because you always find yourself isolated in a foreign land due to langauge barriers and to the fact that you don't know anyone.
Studying abroad is often considered as to a challenging task as it has a direct relationship on the mentality of such student. There is a constant need to be open minded to all possibilities.
A student has to pass through various challenges other than that of studying as well as it is not possible for every family to migrate for the studies along with the student.
- The challenging part of studying abroad is getting used to the culture of such place and knowing the procedures to carry out activities in such regions due to ignorance or less knowledge of the culture.
- Isolating circumstances can be found if the student is an introvert and there is no one for such person to talk to due to not mixing up with other students or staffs of such institute.
- However, the most challenging part is managing the finances of yourself while also studying with concentration. It is found that studying abroad often proves to be costlier experience.
- Non- availability of the accommodation and food makes it difficult to survive if there is a financial crisis as one also has to look after the fees of the institute.
Hence, there are a lot of challenges faced by a student when he steps out to study abroad and faces difficulties related to communication, finance, etc.
