Answer:

Necessary Corrections: First Name and Last Name are recorded in incorrect boxes. Scribbles on errors instead of making corrections Does not include information in the SSN or Desired Salary blank Does not list which position she is applying for Has box checked that she has worked for the company, but does not say when For education just wrote “Yes” instead of listing the high school and address Justification: All of this make the applicant appear less professional and hurt her chances of getting hired. She is not following the directions properly, and she is not asking questions so that she can accurately fill out the application.

(I got a 100% so I know its correct)

The corrections that need to be made are given below:

  • The First name is Jessica and the Last name Smith: These need to be corrected because they were entered wrongly: Smith was entered as the First name and Jessica as the Last name.

  • She should have canceled out the errors on the Date and State neatly. It appears as if Jessica is not proactive in seeking out the information that should go into the form before she enters them.

  • She does not indicate the position applied for. An appropriate response here should be "Nurse", "Care Giver", or "Hospital Administrator" as the case may be.

  • It is clear from the Application Form that the Social Security Number (SSN) and the Desired Salary are also not indicated.

  • The city My Town does not exist in Iowa

  • It is not surprising that the Zip Code does not also match the City indicated. The Zip Code indicated is for a town in Minnesota. To get the correct Zip, Jessica would need to provide the real name of her city. The area code of the phone number is related to Iowa.

  • There is a strong disparity between the date of the application (11/12/2009) and when the candidate has indicated that they will be ready (12/01/2012). Imagine applying for a role in 2021 and stating that you would be available to start the job in 2025?

  • Jessica's email address looks suspicious. It is unlikely that such an email exists. She ought to have inserted a more general email.

  • In the section where she is requested to indicate her experience with the company Jessica left it blank. She should have indicated what her current or last position in the company is/was.
  • In the section where Jessica is required to enter the name of her high school, she simply writes "Yes". What was expected of her is to write the name of the high school attended in full. For example Ames High School, Iowa.

It is clear that if the above application is left as is, Jessica Smith stands little or no chance of getting employed, re-employed, or promoted to the vacant position. One key skill that is required for almost every job is attention to detail. Jessica is clearly lacking this skill and may be required to get some training in that area.
