Poe and King are both great writers, but the difference in their style is noticeable. The main different is not the number of authors that they reference, nor the lists included. Both of them talk well about their lives. But Poe states a whole lot more facts than King does. In fact, you can perceive that immediately. It might be because King was always more imaginative and has always written many fantastic fantasies, but the fact is that he adds imagery in a way that Poe doesn't.
Poe's essay is dominated by facts, while King's memoir is dominated by images and examples.
