When writing and essay or report, a topic idea must be introduced, explained and develop, so that it cannot be narrow, it should be detailed and explained well in order to capture the audience and engage them. Furthermore, that topic idea must present information or data such as statistic, from accurate and reliable sources.  Then, in the body of the piece of writing, that topic idea conveyed in typically in the first paragraph will be backed up with supportive information.
