Let C= cost to rent each chair
Let T= cost to rent each table
8C + 4T = 45
3C + 2T = 21
Multiply the 2nd equation by (-2) and then add the equations together
8C + 4T = 45
-6C - 4T = -42
2C = 3
C = 3/2 = 1.5
Plug this in to the 1st equation to solve for T
8C + 4(3/2) = 45
8C + 6 = 45
8C = 39
C = 36/8 = 4. 5
So the cost to rent each chair is $1.50 and the cost to rent each table is $4.50
Hope this helped ‘cuz it took me forever! :)
