A molecular formula is essentially a way that scientists show what kinds of atoms and how many there are in a molecule.
You've probably also seen of a few, such as [tex]H_{2}O[/tex] (Water!) and [tex]CO_{2}[/tex] (Carbon dioxide!)
Note that the molecular formula doesn't necessarily tell you what the structure of the molecule is.
Although basic compounds like water and carbon dioxide only have one structure, there are other molecules that can have completely different structures and properties.
(These are called isomers, but you probably don't need to know about them yet!)
Good luck! If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!
