Since both sides have a base of 18 you can remove the base to solve for x.

x^2+4x+4=9x+18

Now lets factor both sides the best we can.

x^2+4x+4=9x+18
(x+2)(x+2)=9(x+2)

Now the answer is x=-2 because that will make both sides equal to 0 since zero times anything is zero

And the answer MIGHT be -2 and 7 but I don’t think 7 is an option because the way you would get 7 is by subtracting x+2 from both sides and I don’t think thats a legal move since x+2 is being multiplied by something.

Just as you cant subtract x out of 3x to get 3.

Brainliest my answer if it helps you out?
