Respuesta :
The greatest common factor of 9y^4 and 7y^3 is [tex]=y^{3}[/tex]
Solution:
We have to find the greatest common factor of [tex]9 y^{4} \text { and } 7 y^{3}[/tex]
G.C.F is the largest factor that all terms have in common.
Let us first find the factors of [tex]9 y^{4} \text { and } 7 y^{3}[/tex]
[tex]\text { Factor of } 9 y^{4}=9 \times y \times y \times y \times y[/tex]
[tex]=3 \times 3 \times y \times y \times y \times y[/tex] --- eqn 1
[tex]\text { Factor of } 7 y^{3}=7 \times y \times y \times y[/tex] --- eqn 2
Here 9 and 7 are co-prime numbers, Co-prime are the numbers which only have 1 as the common factor
From Equation (1) and (2)
[tex]\text { Common Factor of } 9 y^{4} \text { and } 7 y^{3}=y \times y \times y=y^{3}[/tex]
