Kshatriya (warriors) arms The arms represent strength. The Kshatriya's job was to defend the community from invaders.  

Vaishya (artisans, merchants) thighs The thighs represent comfort. The Vaishya’s job was to build or provide material goods for a comfortable life.

Shudra (servants) feet The feet represent labor. The Shudras performed manual labor and jobs that no one else was willing to do.
