Regarding average annual precipitation, which of the following is CORRECT?
a. The precipitation tends to increase with latitude toward the poles.
b. The highest average values occur along the equator.
c. The highest amounts occur throughout subtropical latitudes.
d. The drier regions are associated with the eastern portions of major landmasses.

Answer: The higher annual precipitation places on earth are those along the Equator Line. Higher precipitaiton rates on earth are found in countries like India, Colombia and Hawaii, all inserted in equatorial latitudes.

The clouds that promote heavy rainning are formed by dense masses of  sublimed water that condense in higher altitudes where air is colder. These clouds will be shocked and crossed by other air masses, the winds, and depending on its patterns, will cause these cloud particles to condense even more, becoming droplets. This cycle happens mostly everywhere, seasonally, in the world. But, in the ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone) the cycle is faster.

Other natural factors like proximity to water, topography, climate, wind procedence, speed and charge also regulate the precipitation quantity in a region.
