Specific!

If you are trying to reduce weight, train for a sport, gain muscle, strengthen, etc, your fitness plan/goals should be specific.

For example, you are an ice skater. If your trainer is making you do arm work, what is the point? You use your legs in ice skating, not your arms. Yes, you should strengthen your whole body, but what you use in your everyday hobbies/activities is more important.

*I know this because I am an intense tennis player, and I work out every day, even on the weekends*

If you are trying to reduce weight, be specific. Do exercises that take up a lot of energy and burns fat (not to be offensive). If you want to focus on a certain part of your body when working out, tell your trainer. Your trainer accommodates for you. Don't hesitate to say, "Hey, I know that strengthening that area is important, but I want to focus on this area for" and then so and so reasons.

Yea, sorry, I got carried away. But that's good information for you to have!

I hope this helps!
