1. Negative feedback mechanism- estrogen influence pituitary gland to decrease the production of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) which stimulate the ovary to produce estradiol.
2. Positive feedback mechanism- occurs near the end of the follicular phase estrogen which causes the anterior pituitary gland to release more FSH.
Thus, estrogen act by both positive and negative feedback mechanism.
