Dominics water jug holds 125 quarts Terrell says he can find thecapacity of the jug in fluid ounces by dividing 125 by 32a Is Terrell correct Explain how you kn class=

Respuesta :

he is not correct you have to multiply 1.25 and 32

a way that I found this out is by using proportions

in one quart there are 32 fluid ounces
so I did
1/32=1.25/x
x=the number of fluid ounces
then I cross multiplied
getting
1x=32×1.25

32×1.25=40
so there is 40 fluid ounces in 1.25 quarts

hope this helps
I multiplied 1.25 x32 and I got 40
