The answer is C. Partition means  the creation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Hindu-dominated Union of India. It was on August 15, 1947 that this partition happened. The people during this time think that their identity is dictated by their religion therefore Indian Hindus and Muslims are two different nations. With this thinking, it led to the partition of India.
