For the pencil shaped shape, we need to split the shape up in 2 parts (which has already been done!). Lets figure out the rectangle first. To find the area of a rectangle it is Length x Width.
a=lxw
a=6x10
a=60m2
(the m2 means square meters)

For the triangle the formula is Base x Height ÷ 2
a=bxh
÷2
a=7x6
÷2
a=42
÷2
a=21m2

Now we just add up the rectangle and triangle area and voila! You have the area!
21+60=81m2
The area of the shape is 81m2
The rectangles area is 60. The triangles area is 21
