The spacecraft widely known for it's beautiful images of the gas giants and its moons is the Voyager spacecraft (Voyager 1 & 2). The Voyagers took advantage of a rare opportunity in which all the gas giant planets were aligned that allowed them to get a gravity assist from each planet allowing for extremely close pictures and extremely high speeds on the spacecraft.
