One item that was traded for Africans to be taken as slaves would be whale oil which was used for lamp fuel and to produce soap. As well as this item they also traded ginger for medical purposes such as helping digestion,reducing nausea and helping fighting the common cold. They also traded wood which was a rare item which was seen as beneficial in buildings weapons and tools. One important item that was traded was tobacco which was widely as they could then sell it off to earn profit. Hope this helped !!
