What are modern-day treatments for schizophrenia? How is treatment better today than 50-60 years ago? What are some of the obstacles that a person with schizophrenia faces? Are there any natural treatments?

Respuesta :

Answer: there is no cure for schizophrenia but there are treatments, of them is antipsychotic medication. People with schizophrenia face problems such as fearfulness and they have trust issues because they feel people are out to get them.

Answer:

Modern-day treatments for schizophrenia focus on the use of medications to help control the disease. Patients are cautioned and counseled on the importance of taking the medication ALWAYS, even if they don't feel that they are sick.

Explanation:

Modern-day treatment is the result of scientific research and better understanding of the disease.  Today, we know that schizophrenia is a mental disease and not an indication that an individual may be insane.  Many years ago when the medical community did not possess a thorough understanding of the disease, electrical shock treatment and an intensely invasive surgical procedure known as a lobotomy was used to treat schizophrenia.
