Oxygen in Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process of turning a few ingredients, consisting of light energy, glucose/sugar, water, carbon dioxide, and oxygen, into overall energy.

Light is picked up by the leaves of a plant, which the plant uses to power the process of photosynthesis. It uses the carbon dioxide and sugar, for energy, which then it releases oxygen as a waste product.

Oxygen is a waste product of photosynthesis.

Oxygen is released in the light dependent reactions of photosynthesis.
It’s released when an electron is taken from H2O by chlorophyll a p680.
