What is the difference between rising action and falling action?

A book starts with an introduction which basically introduces the characters and setting. Next there is the rising action(s), which keep the story going. It adds events and scenarios that lead to a problem or plot. Then, there is the climax, which is basically the whole reason the story is written, what the rising actions have led you to. After, there is the falling actions, which just leads to you to the very end. It calmes down any situation and fixes and problems that had arose in the rising actions and climax.  The resolution is the end, where everything is happily ever after.
