- The Industrial Revolution brought about several improvements to the economy as well as the society, in the form of increased employment opportunities, minimum wages and the decrease in the dependence on agriculture.
- But, Industrial Revolution also brought in some negative changes, that deeply changed the structure of the society itself, which can be observed in the present-day life-style as well.
- The Industrial Revolution altered the lives of the factory workers. The factory system meant extremely poor living conditions for the workers.
- Their houses were built of cheap/unstable materials, and structure of the buildings were cramped, unsanitary and with low ventilation and space.

- The routine of the workers was repetitive, and as a result, stress and dissatisfaction among them became prevalent.
- Although they were now allowed to contribute in the workplace, Women were not paid equal wages as men, thus strengthening the pre-existing gender inequalities.
- Because each worker was able to make a standard sum by working in factories, each family attempted to make more income by sending the children in the family to factories, leading to rampant child labor.
