The correct answer is - False.
The energy in an ecosystem flows from the producers to the consumers. The producers are the living organisms at the bottom of the food chain. They are the ones that are able to produce their own food, they do that by using the Sun and the gases form the atmosphere.
These organisms are consumed by other larger organisms which are not producers, thus they are consumers. The consumers get energy from the producers in this way. That process continues to the top of the food chain where the predators are, they consume other consumers, thus receive energy from them, which they earlier received from other consumer or maybe directly from a producer.
