Sahara desert was a large isolating buffer that prevents eastern and sub-saharan African peoples from consistent contact with other peoples. The middle east was the only civilzation with land connection to the rest of Africa an stood in between Africans and the rest of the known world.

The presence of the Red sea is the geographical features that reduces the contact between the people of Africans and Middle East.

This indian ocean inlet separates the blocks of Earth's crust between the Arabia and North Africa

As the Africa countries includes Egypt, Sudan etc, the Red Sea seperates the Middle East from Africa.

Also, the Sahara Desert also prevented migration of Sub-Saharan Africans into the Mid East and Europe.
