Queen Elizabeth I is remembered for her multiple achievements, one of which is the Elizabethan Religious Settlement.

The Elizabethan Religious Settlement was an act by the Queen Elizabeth I set in action in 1559. This act's purpose was to stop the religious division and tensions between the different religious groups in England, namely the Catholics and the Protestants. The religious divisions were a direct result of the policies of Henry VIII, Edward VI, Lady Jane Grey, and Mary I.

Elizabeth I decided to implement two acts, The Act of Supremacy of 1558 in order to re-establish the independence of the Church of England from Rome, as well as make herself the Supreme Governor of the Church of England. The second act was the Act of Uniformity of 1559, with the basis of it set around the Real Presence doctrine of the Catholicism.
