↪here M = mass of the body , g = Accelation due to the gravity and h = height from the ground ..
↪thus P.E. = (2) * (9.8)*(1)= 19.6
↪P.E. = 19.6 joules ..
↪thus we know that MECHANICAL ENERGY = POTENTIAL ENERGY + KINETIC ENERGY
↪THUS MECHANICAL ENERGY = 19.6 + 4 = 23.6 J
