The planets remain in orbit around the sun because the Gravity of the Sun attracts the planets, the heavier objects cause a gravitational attraction larger than the lighter objects. The sun is 1000 times heavier than Jupiter, which is the largest planet. The sun's gravity attracts the planets towards the interior but they maintain a lateral movement by which they remain spinning. The planetary bodies are: the planets and their satellites, asteroids, comets and dwarf planets.
