In spite of the closeness to Lake Victoria, one of the largest fresh waterholes in the planet; potable water approach is challenging in East Africa; women in general deplete most of their life time collecting it (millions of hours in it), it's a massive waste of time.

To get fresh water, women of east Africa spend their most of time in collecting it from ponds, shallow wells, rivers, lakes and etc.

East Africa facing the problem of water shortage from a long time and due to the problem of water shortage, many families have left their homes in search of water and fertile land to grazing their cattle.

Around 41 percent population of the total 46 percent in depends on the unimproved and basic sources of water such as ponds, wells.
