President James Garfield, which was only 6 months in power due to his assassination, was successful at eradicating corruption int he US Post Office and reinforcing the US Navy.

Chester Arthur, in his condition of being vice president, succeeded James Garfield after his assassination. He engaged in the restructuring of the civil service (Employment system that applied to those citizens working for the government) and continued with Garfield's project of empowering the US Navy. he also signed the Chinese exclusion act that denied citizenship to the Chinese and banned immigration until 1943.

Stephen Cleveland's views were conservative. He supported businessmen and opposed the rise of tariffs. He was very cautious regarding government spending. However, this position would ultimately backfire as the country went through a national depression in 1893, which he could not overturn.  

President James Garfield served in the government for 6 months. However, in his tenure, actively participated in eliminating corruption activities in the US such as in post offices and courier services. He was also involved in increasing investment in the navy work of the nation.  

Chester Arthur came in power after James Garfield. His focus during his office terms was on the enhancement of public services such as employment. He did not stop the investments initiated by Garfield in the US Navy. Thus, he also worked in the area of removal of immigrants ban of Chinese people.  

Stephen Cleveland mainly worked for the upliftment of the businessmen by reducing tariffs and taxes. He implemented policies to decrease government spending, which lead to the situation of depression in 1893.
