The circulatory and respiratory system works together. The respiratory system requires oxygen to release carbon dioxide. But this carbon dioxide is released from cellular reactions. The blood helps carry the oxygen from the lungs to the heart and rest of the body. Carbon dioxide is carried to the lungs through the blood. Blood is significant part of the circulatory system.
