I choose letter C. old-fashioned or traditional ideas about duty and sacrifice. Yeat’s believes that this impulse that that leads people to sign and serve when war is upon them.  This takes on a deeper meaning when one is now sent to the front lines.  That’s sense of honor and sacrifice that one makes even if he knows that he puts his life at risks by doing so.
