1) A mother is 3 times as old as her daughter. After 9 years, the mother will be 2 times as old as the daughter. How old is the mother now?

2) A car left Ottawa at 1 p.m. going at 35 mph. A second car left the city at 4 p.m. going in the same direction at 50 mph. At what time will the second car catch up with the first?
