In response to the building of the Berlin Wall, Kennedy declared his support for Berlin but took no action against the USSR.
President John Kennedy was known for his stance during the Cold War, that together with the USSR, a model should be sought to avoid a possible war and final destruction under accumulated nuclear weapons, which he said at his inaugural speech. Of course, as a convinced democrat, he supported people in Berlin and the problems caused by the Berlin Wall. So on June 26, 1963, he delivered a speech in front of the crowded mass of people in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, providing them with support in the search for freedom.
