currently, there are more sharps injuries (less than 2%) in the phlebotomy industry, due to employee training and current safety devices on hypodermic needles. at least 4% are during or after surgery. winged steel & butterfly needles are way less bcause of safety devices on the needle itself, 2 remind medical staff to apply safety guard right after injections, 1.5%
