Think about the main message or messages in Romeo and Juliet. While different people will think the play means different things, there are some generally accepted themes that were given earlier in the Unit and are listed again below. Read each theme, then use the Text Editor to explain how the theme is illustrated in the play. Use quotations or facts from the play to help support your opinions.

1. Human beings are not perfect, even adults.
2. The desire for revenge can harm both parties in an argument.
3. Keeping secrets and trying to deceive others, even with the best intentions, can be harmful.
4. Sometimes humans cannot control events in life.
5.Young people are sometimes governed by passion instead of wisdom, while older people sometimes forget what love is all about.
6. Often, the individual is forced to fight against society and its rules.

Respuesta :

2. When Tybalt killed Mercutio, Romeo got very angry and murdered Tybalt in revenge. Because of this, the Prince exiled Romeo. "And for that offence
Immediately we do exile him hence." Revenge does not bring anything good upon anyone, as it will come back for you. In this case, Romeo got nothing out of it but the death of Tybalt, the broken heart of Juliet, and his own exile.

5. Romeo was so driven by his young lust, quickly moving on from his past love to Juliet. The night he met Juliet, he immediately fell in love and kissed her. "My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand
To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss."

6. Romeo and Juliet's love is against the family's usual rules, as they are enemies. In the beginning, they tried to keep this love secret. "And the place death, considering who thou art,If any of my kinsmen find thee here."

This is what I remember, but I'll skim through the play again for quotes for the rest!

Hope this helps!
