if a function has roots v and u, then it can be factored into form

if the roots (zeroes) are 2 and 12, then it can be factored into form
[tex]f(x)=a(x-2)(x-12)[/tex] where a is a constant not equal to 0
if a=1 for simplicity
[tex]f(x)=(x-2)(x-12)=x^2-14x+24[/tex]
