Sheridan is correct.  She followed all of the correct steps of the Pythagorean Theory.  The reason that Jayden was wrong is because he used the hypotenuse of the triangle as "b" in the formula instead of using it as "c" which is where they hypotenuse always has to go in this formula.

no they are both incorrect by my understanding of your question use the Pythagorean theorem a^2 + b^2 =c^2 therefore 7^2 +x^2 = 13^2 or 49+x=169 then solve normally 169-49=120  √120 =5


The answer is  5
