The narrator is on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger, after the ship he was in with his family and zoo animals sinks. Knowing that finding food is essential, he tries to catch fish, but has no bait.

Just when he was losing hope, a flying fish strikes his face. This is the first one he catches. He throws the fish to the tiger, but it falls into the water. After that, a school of flying fish passes by and he is able to catch some by clutching at a blanket.

He had to protect himself while trying to catch some of the fish, because they passed by fast and caused him some cuts and bruises. In the end, the narrator is able to catch six fresh fish and thanks Vishnu for the help.
