Imperialism is a policy of extending authority of one nation over another through conquest or colonization.
This policy involves generaly the use of military force, political and economical control. The term Imperialism comes from the word Imperium, which expansion of a nation over several lands acquired by the use of force, generally against the natives wishes. The expansion of economic benefits acquired in obtaining the conquest land is one of the main interests in Imperialism.
